Meet Our Doctor

Dr. Takemoto is a graduate of the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. He has been practicing for over 30 years and is certified in the placement and restoration of dental implants, mini implants, Ultratooth implants, traditional orthodontics, Invisalign® clear aligners, ClearCorrect clear aligners, the Chao Pinhole® surgical technique for gum recession, surgical endodontics, periodontal surgery, sleep dentistry and conscious sedation.

Dr. Takemoto has worked in virtually every venue in dentistry, from volunteering and working on cardboard chairs in Mexico to volunteering on Indian reservations in Tucson, Arizona, as well as working in a Beverly Hills high-rise, working at CHOC (Children’s Hospital of Orange County), being on staff at Saddleback Hospital and the Veterans Hospital in Loma Linda, and finally, working at a private practice here in Moorpark, California.

Dr. Takemoto is the owner of Moorpark Smiles in Moorpark, California, where we provide very personalized service to our valued patients from all over the surrounding areas. We love to hear their stories and what their goals are, and we do our best to help them achieve their best smiles!

Dr. Takemoto’s Story

My first day of dental school was so embarrassing! The instructor asked us, “Who has never had a cavity?” I proudly raised my hand, as I had been to the dentist regularly and had never had a cavity or filling! They put me in the dental chair in front of my classmates and instructors and began to examine my teeth. Oh, here’s one! Oh, here’s another! And another, and another. I had eight cavities, and one of them turned out to be very deep, close to the nerve of the tooth! I was mortified! After fixing the tooth with the huge cavity, the tooth ached for three months. I decided then that if I became a dentist, I would always provide accurate diagnoses and let people know the truth about the condition of their teeth so that what happened to me wouldn’t happen to them. Our staff is motivated by extremely happy patients, and we do everything we can to make people want to give us a hug. Our formula is simple. We listen, we get to know you, we address what you want, we educate you on what you need, and we figure out a plan that is right and affordable for you.

After working so many years and focusing on learning every facet of dentistry, I feel very confident about our practice’s knowledge and our service. We are continually updating and raising the bar for our patients so that they can be served the best care possible.
